Masters, how can I forgive someone completely?

Dear child, forgiveness is a delicate & intricate process that requires one to start healing from within, the deep & underlying wounds that caused / triggered the inability to forgive.

Many of us, knowingly or unknowingly, grasped on to painful memories within us, not knowing what to do with them, not ready to internalise them, not ready to let them go. As a result, this created a self-suffocating loop of negative self-talk and imagination. We hold on to the dark, we envisage people who reflect those traits found in those painful memories to be “bad” or “evil”, and it becomes increasingly difficult for us to see the goodness in people generally. We end up re-living the drama of those painful memories repeatedly, like a broken tape recorder. Hence, we feel trapped and lost.

Though the painful memories may have physically left us, energetically we are still corded to them. Each time we remind ourselves of that painful memory, we re-live it, and we allow it to manifest. This is because we have given those painful memories the permission to take root and grow within the deepest of our being. And so, we feel stuck and suffocated.

How then can those painful memories leave us?

First, you must set the clear intention not to allow those painful memories to be corded to you any longer. Whatever happened has happened. The world has moved on. All that is left is the endless suffering that you have taken upon yourself to experience and re-live those memories. It is time to move on, together with the world. It is time to embark on a new beginning for ourselves, for that is our way of truly nourishing our soul, living in divine love, light & purpose.

Next, any time those painful memories appear in your imagination, firmly resist. Find all the strength, courage and willpower from within to resist those painful memories and prevent them from taking root in your energetic being once more. Say “No” to them. Those painful memories belong to the dark, and they are not a part of your divine existence. Do not succumb to the temptations of your ego, to allow entry to those painful memories to take root, manifest and completely overwhelm you. Say “No”, now and forever. Allow the light within you to grow and completely extinguish the dark. You can do it. We believe in you, and we will support you in your endeavours to move towards the light.

Initially, you may feel as if this is an uphill & daunting task, because most humans are not used to training our minds to work with us, not against us. The default mode of the mind is to run on autopilot, with the driver’s seat sometimes controlled by one’s ego. However, we can always choose to change all of these. We can train our minds not to re-live those painful memories. We can train our minds to release and let go of those painful memories. We can train our minds to embrace the present moment as it is, without over-thinking or judging. Simply acceptance.

You may wonder, how to start training our minds?

We would suggest for everyone to consider the infinite potential of meditation; simply sitting still, resting, and allowing the mind to gently focus on one virtuous object (the object of meditation). Initially, the mind may not be used to focusing all its attention on one virtuous object, and it may drift in and out, like unpredictable waves churning up & down in the deep waters. Hold steadfast to your little boat as you ride through the self-generated storms of your mind. Practice makes perfect. It is like learning how to cycle. Initially, we can’t find the balance, we keep falling, and we feel like giving up. With repeated practices, you will find your muscle memory.

There are many ways of meditating shared in the market. Frankly speaking, there is no right or wrong method, just which one your soul resonates with. Be open to explore and experiment so that you can discover for yourself what suits you. Try not to be influenced or swayed by others’ opinions. Allow yourself the opportunity to experience and decide for yourself what suits you.

Every time you feel like giving up, know that we are right here with you, everyone of you. No one is ever alone in this world, without their group of Masters serving them. So trust that when you set the clear intention to release the past baggage or to start training your mind, your Masters will be around to support and guide you. Be it finding the right meditation app, meeting the right teachers, having the right situations or circumstances to practise, and so forth.
